Sanitising your products & keeping a squeaky kit isn’t going above and beyond - it’s basic hygiene. It’s professionalism.

So why isn’t every MUA doing it? 👀
This should be done in between every👏🏼 single👏🏼 client👏🏼

If there’s one comment I wish I got a dollar for every time I heard it, it’s when my clients say “What are you spraying on your products?” - and when I reply “It’s a cosmetic sanitiser.”, the response is always mind blowing to me!
In fact, I’d say around 9/10 clients tell me they’ve never seen their MUA sanitise their products as they work.

This is not to say that products might not be cleaned eventually, but in instances where we’re working on back-to-back clients, I would rather that my client actually SEE me cleaning the product I just used on their eyeball, so at least they have peace of mind.

Fellow MUA’s - It’s time to get clean! A luxury service is not luxury if you’re using unsanitary products from client to client.

This might shock you, but “NATURAL MAKEUP” isn’t all that natural.
🙋🏼‍♀️ Hands up if you thought a natural makeup look, meant wearing hardly any makeup at all?

Here is a perfect example for our beautiful bride Nicola, who usually doesn’t wear much makeup day-to-day, so for her wedding day, we went with a natural look to keep her feeling as true to herself as possible, BUT - this doesn’t mean she didn’t have a full face of glam on..

There’s a few things us pro MUA’s keep in mind when working with our natural gals:

1. The weather! Nicola had a 40 degree wedding day, so we needed to bump up the foundation coverage, as well as using a bloody good primer, setting powder & setting spray.

2. The photos! Did you know that you will lose about 10% of your makeup in a photo? This is a classic example of why we “need more” makeup for these special events.

3. The application! Repeat after me - THIN layers. This is the absolute difference between thick heavy glam makeup, and “natural” makeup. Same steps, totally different application.

4. Colours used! Choosing colours & undertones that is natural to the client (eg; a soft cool brown to mimic shadows / contours of their facial bone structure). For tanned girlies, we work off a warmer colour palette. For lips, we aim for a “your lip but better” shade, so it’s not too obvious, but is enough to translate into a photo.
